Terms of Service

1. Service Description

Sahl ("we", "our", "the Service") provides a QR-code-based payment platform for restaurants. Restaurant owners ("Merchants") use the Service to generate QR codes for their tables. Diners ("End Users") scan these QR codes to view, split, and pay their bills directly from their mobile devices.

The Service includes a restaurant management dashboard, real-time payment tracking, bill splitting, tip collection, customer ratings, and email receipt delivery.

2. Restaurant Obligations

By registering as a Merchant on Sahl, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate restaurant information (name, address, VAT registration, pricing).
  • Maintain up-to-date menu items and pricing in the dashboard.
  • Ensure all charges displayed to diners are accurate and comply with local consumer protection laws.
  • Comply with all applicable Lebanese laws and regulations, including tax reporting obligations.
  • Not use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to process payments for prohibited goods or services.

3. Fees and Payment

Sahl may charge transaction fees on payments processed through the platform. Current fee schedules are communicated to Merchants upon registration and may be updated with 30 days' written notice.

Payment processing is handled by third-party providers (Tap Payments, WhishMoney, OMT). Each provider's terms and fees apply in addition to Sahl's fees. Sahl is not responsible for payment processing failures caused by third-party providers.

Cash payments are recorded in the system but processed directly between the diner and the restaurant. Sahl does not handle cash transactions.

4. Data and Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data.

Merchants are responsible for informing their diners that payment data is processed through the Sahl platform and applicable third-party payment providers.

5. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sahl shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunities.

Sahl's total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms shall not exceed the fees paid by the Merchant to Sahl in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

6. Termination

Either party may terminate this agreement at any time by providing written notice. Upon termination, the Merchant's access to the dashboard will be revoked, but existing payment records will be retained for the period required by applicable law.

Sahl reserves the right to suspend or terminate a Merchant's account immediately if the Merchant violates these Terms or engages in fraudulent activity.

7. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Lebanon. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Beirut, Lebanon.
